The BAPC Session
approved the monthly sale of Fairly Traded Coffee through the Presbyterian
Coffee Project. Equal Exchange, which seeks to balance the inequities found in
the conventional coffee trade, makes fairly traded coffee available to
congregations throughout our denomination.
If you are a
lover of coffee, be sure you buy fairly traded coffee and help balance
inequities.
Chocolate
lovers, satisfy your cravings by buying 3.5 oz. fairly traded chocolate bars.
Don’t be surprised if you find the label indicating that the chocolate was
packaged in Switzerland. While the cocoa is raised in developing countries,
those countries are unable to make the cocoa into chocolate bars. So the cocoa
is shipped to Switzerland for processing. You are still supporting cocoa farmers
who will receive a fair price for their cocoa. These bars make great gifts!
Buy on the 1st Sunday of the month and pay with cash or by
check (make check out to BAPC-Equal Exchange). Watch for the sales table in
front of the church office (in the foyer)!
